6 Fall Activities for the Whole Family
Across Canada, the leaves have started to turn, the air has a frosty feel, and all things pumpkin-related have come out of hiding. Yes, fall is upon us.
For many, this is the mourning period for summer when we say goodbye to outdoor BBQs, swimming in the lake, and weekend cottage trips. But here at Klover, we love the fall season.
What's more, we are determined for everyone to love the fall season as much as we do. Here is a list of fun fall activities that the whole family can enjoy. Who knows, perhaps after doing a couple of these, fall might become your favourite season too!
Apple Picking
Of course, apple picking is one of our favourite fall activities. Not only is it fun for everyone, but the possibilities are endless! With your apple haul, you can brew some apple cider or make a homemade apple pie for everyone to enjoy around a Thanksgiving table. Whatever your preference is, there’s something tasty to be made for everyone. Do you know what they say? An apple a day does keep the doctor away!
Corn Maze
A childhood memory for us growing up was the joy we got from running around and getting lost in the vast corn mazes. If you have little ones, corn mazes host a plethora of fun because it’s the perfect place to let your imagination run wild. Corn mazes aren’t only a lot of fun for kids, though. They are also a real treat for adults. After the kids are tired out from galavanting all afternoon, you get to go home with a bag of corn to roast on the BBQ.
Learn How To Knit
In the past, we’ve taken up knitting with the hope of knitting a sweater in time for the cold winter months. It’s safe to say that we may have been a bit ambitious with our goal, but we have managed to get a chunky knit scarf out of our endeavours! Spending more time inside is an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill.
Carve A Pumpkin
Nothing says fall like the iconic pumpkin. Whether it’s pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin pie or visiting a pumpkin patch, these orange delights are certainly present at this time of year. This year, get the family together and have a pumpkin carving contest. It’s a great opportunity for bonding time with the kids but also a lot of fun for everyone involved. Our top tip is to save the pumpkin seeds after you’ve carved your creations and roast them in an oven with some spices. Entertaining and delicious!
Go For A Walk
This one might seem overly simplistic, but there’s nothing more to it! Instead of letting the chillier weather get you down, embrace it! Take yourself and the family out for a walk and enjoy the cool breeze, admire the vibrant colours of the leaves, and maybe even visit a pumpkin patch.
Harvest Your Garden
For those who have a green thumb, fall marks an exciting occasion. It’s time to harvest all the fruits you’ve been growing in your garden. Whether it’s squash, carrots, or beets, it’s time to get them out of the ground and into the oven. There isn't anything better than serving a meal with veggies right from your backyard, right?
So there you have it, some fun fall activities for all the family. We hope that got you excited for the fall season. If you want to serve your fall creations so that they look as good as they taste, check us out; we have something for everyone!
